According to recent reports, Samsung continues to dominate the smartphone market with significant annual growth. And the company continues to bring great mobile phones to the market: after the announcement of the foldable phone, the Korean giant officially unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 line with huge improvements over the previous Galaxy Note 9. For the first time since 2011, the Note line includes an assortment of two different options.

This means that we can compare it not only with the most expensive devices but also with cheaper Chinese flagships. For this post, we decided to compare Vanilla Galaxy Note 10 with Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro and 10x Oppo Reno zoom, which, in our opinion, are among the five most popular flagships of the second half of 2019.

design

Taste plays an important role here, but I would personally choose the Galaxy Note 10 because of its more compact size, smaller thickness (despite the presence of the S Pen) and waterproof certification. However, if you just look at the appearance, the Oppo Reno 10x zoom with a rimless display, a shark fin front camera, and a very original glass bottom will definitely be more attractive, at least in my opinion.

But for me, size and workmanship are more important. Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro remains a very interesting device thanks to a borderless display with a pop-up camera and a massive back cover in interesting color options. Which one would you choose?

display

Although the Galaxy Note 10+ has a worse display than the Galaxy Note 10+ with a lower resolution and smaller size, the new Galaxy Note 10 has the most amazing display you can find in this trio. This is the only device compatible with HDR10 + and therefore brighter and more realistic colors. Some may not like the hole in the center of the display, which closes the front camera and at the same time reduces the aperture, but there are no competitors in the quality of this comparison.

It even supports an S-pen for writing and drawing, which can also be used as motion control and allows you to control the display without touching it. Remember that the 10x zoom of Oppo Reno has a wider control panel. By the way, Galaxy Note 10 wins.

hardware

The European version of the Galaxy Note 10 comes with a new chipset: Exynos 9825, which features an improved 7nm process (compared to 9820) and increased performance. The U.S. version includes the Snapdragon 855 chipset of the Galaxy S10 series, as well as the 10x zoom of Oppo Reno and Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro.

So if you are from Europe and other regions where you get Exynos 9825, Galaxy Note 10 is the best choice for you. Otherwise, we recommend using the Oppo Reno 10x zoom, which offers the same hardware department, as well as a Micro-SD slot for expanding the internal memory. In any case, you get a custom Android-based user interface.

camera

If you like zooming without loss of detail, Oppo Reno’s 10x zoom is the right choice for you with a 10x hybrid and 5x optical zoom. Otherwise, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is the best camera phone thanks to dual OIS technology, variable aperture, and excellent video capture capabilities.

battery

If battery life is your priority, don’t choose Samsung Galaxy Note 10. Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro achieves the most satisfactory results and even offers faster charging technology than Oppo Reno 10x zoom. Please note that the Galaxy Note 10 only supports wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

price

950 € for Galaxy Note 10, 800 € for Oppo Reno 10x Zoom and only 430 € for Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro. In the end, if you exclude the battery, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will be the winner of this competition. But Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro definitely has a higher price-performance ratio. If your budget is unlimited (and you are not interested in longer battery life or an enlarged display), do not currently choose the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom with current prices.
