Disclosed the characteristics of a folding Android smartphone Microsoft Surface Duo.
During last year’s presentation of the Android smartphone with two Surface Duo displays, Microsoft did not go into details about the technical specifications. It is not clear why the Redmond corporation decided to keep silent about this data, but a new leak indicates rather mediocre specifications.
It is reported that the thickness of the Surface Duo when unfolded will be only 4.8 mm, and when closed – 9.6 mm. The smartphone will have two separate AMOLED-screens with a diagonal of 5.6 inches and a resolution of 1800 × 1350 pixels each. Last year’s Snapdragon 855 is indicated as the processor.

The amount of RAM is very modest by modern standards – only 6 GB. 256 GB without expandability will be available for data storage. The capacity of the built-in battery, as indicated in the leak, will be 3460 mAh, which is a little in modern realities – especially for a device with two displays.
There will be only one camera with a resolution of 11 megapixels, a pixel size of 1.12 microns and an aperture of f / 2.0 lens. By the way, earlier the head of the Microsoft product line Panos Panay shared the first shot taken on this device. A fingerprint scanner is reported for quick and safe unlocking, but NFC, wireless charging and 5G have not been announced.
It is assumed that the Surface Duo will be running Android 10, followed by an upgrade to Android 11. The system will be adapted to work with two displays and a Surface Pen stylus.
Surface Duo will be released before the end of the year. It is possible that by then Microsoft may make some changes to the technical specifications of the device.
