The Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro are the two most anticipated phones of the year. Here we have everything we know about them, including camera functions, price, and expected release date.
A few years have passed, but the Chinese manufacturer is now a major player of smartphones. The number of flagship devices last year was incredibly strong, and the Huawei P30 Pro is already one of the best smartphones in 2019.
Proud at the top of the heap – and the favorite phone of many people in 2018 – was the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. We can not imagine a single phone that would pack more STUFF in such a stylish form factor over the past year.
Meanwhile, Huawei Mate 20 has provided a flagship for half the price of an iPhone XS or Pixel 3 XL.
Therefore, we would like to hear more about the upcoming Huawei Mate 30 and Huawei Mate 30 Pro. That’s all we know, or at least believe that we believe in this mysterious flagship.
Release date of Huawei Mate 30 – When will the Huawei Mate 30?
Here, every member of the Huawei Mate family has been announced:
- Huawei Ascend Mate – January 2013
- Huawei Ascend Mate 2 4G – January 2014
- Huawei Ascend Mate 7 – September 2014
- Huawei Mate 8 – November 2015
- Huawei Mate 9 – November 2016
- Huawei Mate 10 – October 2017
- Huawei Mate 20 – October 2018
As you can see, the Mate line went through several stages. He used to wear the bulky Ascend Mate tag on one side. The line was also introduced at the beginning of the year.
Huawei Ascend Mate 7 (confusing third block of the series) began the transition to modernity by jumping to a larger number and starting later in the same year as Mate 2 4G. The following year, the nickname Ascend was removed and the current launch window was set.
We would be very surprised if the Huawei’s future phone Mate 30 family does not follow this current trend, which has been running for four years. In fact, a nameless Huawei manager told the GSMArena that the Mate 30 will hit the market in September or October of this year.
Price Huawei Mate 30 – How much does Huawei Mate 30 cost?
Huawei Mate 20 cost 499 pounds, and Huawei Mate 20 Pro – 899 pounds. We would be happy if these prices were saved for this year’s models, but we wouldn’t be surprised if they bought more.
In the end, Huawei Mate 10 Pro in 2017 cost £ 799. The trend of price changes in the smartphone market is growing.
If Huawei actually integrates 5G into the base model of Huawei Mate 30 Pro (see below), the cost will only increase.
Huawei Mate 30 – Performance
One of the most interesting aspects of Huawei phones is that they operate on the company’s own chips, and not on Qualcomm, the industry leader in silicon.
Even more interesting is the fact that the Kirin 980, which worked on both Mate 20 phones, surpassed the Snapdragon 845 counterpart in many performance indicators last year.
Not only do we expect the Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro to be the successors of this processor – this is believed to be the Kirin 985 – but we also expect it to become the absolute engine of the chip. The reports from China suggest that this may be the first SoC, built on a 7nm ultraviolet (EUV) process, which increases the density of transistors by 20%.
Expect higher clock speeds than the Kirin 980, but a similar architecture (hence, probably the point of raising the name).
Huawei Mate 30 – Design and Display
Unlike the Huawei P30, which was completely leaked before the official launch, we had no leaks for the Huawei Mate 30 family. This makes sense since it’s still six months before Mate 30.
One of the design features of the Huawei P30 is that the new phone retains the same design features as its predecessor, the Huawei P20. This may indicate that Huawei Mate 30 will follow this example.
That would be useful, especially considering that the Mate 20 Pro was a beautiful device. The P30 design also suggests that Huawei can avoid the slot design that other manufacturers are pursuing.
Keep in mind that the Huawei Mate 20 Pro uses the same facial recognition technology as Apple Face ID, which required this advanced level. If the need for such a bulky steering wheel is not resolved, the Mate 30 Pro will probably follow suit.
We do not have links to used screens. The Mate 20 had a 6.53-inch Full HD LCD, and the Mate 20 Pro was equipped with a 6.39-inch QHD AMOLED. Both were excellent screens in their own way, but we would be happy if, by the end of 2019, Huawei would include OID at full strength.
Huawei Mate 30 – camera
Both the Huawei Mate 20 and the Huawei Mate 20 Pro were equipped with sophisticated three-camera installations, offered in a special partnership with Leica.
For the Huawei Mate 30 family, we expect even more advanced camera efforts. There may also be more lenses.
At the beginning of the year, the Dutch website Mobielkopen noted that Huawei filed a patent for the development of a number of cases. These cases seemed to make room for a large rectangular camera module, and not for the rectangular orientation of the Mate 20 family.
This can offer an ambitious approach with five cameras from the Huawei Mate 30 family.
Huawei Mate 30 – Additional Features
At the World Summit of Analysts in China, Huawei presented its 5G action plan. Its first smartphone with 5G support will appear in the second half of 2019 on its own 5G modem.
This means that the Huawei’s flagship smartphone Mate 30 is likely to be a big Huawei 5G device. It is always possible that this is, of course, a special derivative of Mate 30.
Huawei is not afraid of expensive special issues, and it is well known that the 5G modem technology raises the price of early equipment by hundreds of pounds.
We also expect that Huawei will continue to use the built-in fingerprint sensor installed on the Mate 20 Pro. I hope it will be faster and more reliable than before.
