Dark theme, full-screen gesture navigation, and enhanced security
After six beta versions for developers and daring testers, Google announced the release of a stable version of the Android 10 operating system for ordinary users.
Android 10 is already available as a free “over the air” update for the Pixel Series smartphones. Also, partner manufacturers of Google should start updating their smartphones by the end of the year.
According to the developers, the new OS brings many changes, including built-in support for folding smartphones and fifth-generation 5G cellular networks. In addition, there are almost 50 changes related to the security and confidentiality of user data.
- New Huawei smartphones lose all Google services, including YouTube and Chrome
- New Google Pixel smartwatch gets a camera in the center of the screen
- Google Pixel 4 smartphone “live” images leaked on the network
Of the innovations noticeable with the naked eye, one can note the global introduction of a dark theme, new full-screen navigation for frameless smartphones based on gestures, and a built-in function for shooting video from the screen.
The Live Caption function for automatically converting sound to text in any application will be available a little later, during the fall, and also starting with Pixel smartphones.
