Huawei P20 and P20 Plus – Release Date, HiSilicon Kirin 960 Processor, New Chips and More…

The flagship smartphones Huawei P10 and P10 Plus were introduced several months ago. And the manufacturer, apparently, is already working on improved versions of Huawei P20 and P20 Plus. Here we tried to collect everything that is known about smartphones today, namely their key parameters and the date of the devices’ exit.

What will Huawei P20 / P20 Plus

Apparatus does not get a major change in design. As before, smartphones are waiting in beautiful metal cases with a dual main camera on the back edge and a scanner on the front face. As in 2017, the phones will receive many bright colors of the case, but the company also will not forget about the classic dark colors.

Kirin 960 processor and memory

Sources of rumors and leaks on Weibo showed that Huawei P20 will become an upgraded version of Huawei P10. It is assumed that Huawei P20 will be equipped with the flagship chipset HiSilicon Kirin 960 of its own design. The phone will be available in RAM versions: with 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM on board. As for flash drives, these parameters are not disclosed anywhere. But, proceeding from already available Huawei P10 and P10 Plus, it is necessary to wait for not less than 64 Gb of memory in basic configuration P20.

What will the display be?

In the top version of the P20 Plus, you should expect a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, which will receive an IPS matrix with a resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels. The younger version of Huawei P20 display will be at 5.1-5.2 inches. Probably, the company will still increase the screen diagonal to a more convenient 5.2 inches, like the P9 Lite in 2016. The resolution will remain at the same level and will be 1920 × 1080 pixels. And in the end, it is assumed that both versions will get curved displays to the side faces, like Samsung’s flagships.

Huawei P10 Battery

Smartphones get capacious batteries, as usual. The younger version will be equipped with a 4000 mAh battery, and the older model will receive a battery with a capacity of around 4300 mAh. Naturally, both versions of the P20 and P20 Plus will receive the fast charging technology.

Date of release of Huawei P20 and P20 Plus

As the Huawei P10 line was introduced in February 2017, it is expected that Huawei P20 will arrive in the quarter 4 of 2017 (mid-December). Despite the late announcement, the device will receive the Kirin 960 processor, not the more productive Kirin 970, which the manufacturer has saved for the Huawei Mate 10 tablet.

The company is largely tied to the debut of the flagship Mate 10 in October 2017. It is expected that it will be the first smartphone of the company, which will be shipped with the flagship chipset HiSilicon Kirin 970 on board. This proprietary processor of the company is made on a 10 nm process technology, it has 8 cores Cortex A73 and graphics system Mali-G71MP12 GPU.

So, traditionally, the most powerful phone in the line of the Chinese manufacturer will remain Mate 10, and P10 and P10 Plus will be just balanced flagships for the mass consumer.
